Kazakhstan has introduced a permit system for the export of a number of industrial goods, as well as telecommunications and aviation equipment, to CIS countries, Trans.ru reports, citing the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
While the new system is being introduced as a pilot project, it will be in effect for one year. The permit system covers 164 groups of goods that were not manufactured in Kazakhstan or any other CIS country: 66 groups of industrial goods, 79 types of telecommunications and computer equipment, and 19 types of aviation goods.
It should be noted that export permits must be obtained from various agencies, depending on the type of goods. The permit issuance service is free. Applications are submitted electronically through the Kazakhstan e-government web portal.
However, the export of goods manufactured in the UK, US, or EU countries to the CIS is prohibited in principle.
